What a fantastic day PPH and PPB had on their class excursion on Tuesday. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the day ran very smoothly with our bus driver, Ken. I was so proud of all the children as their manners and behaviour was exceptional at both places. I thought I took the Year Six's and not the Pre-Primaries. It was a long day and the weather was warm, but the children were so patient and had the best time.
We set off on the bus to Wonky Windmill Farm and PPB went to the Reptile Park first. There was so much to see at the farm and the children had an adventure finding all the animals. The children were able to feed the animals with a bag of carrots. Michelle, Lynn and Carmen let the children bottle feed the baby lambs and hold the guinea pigs.
The children spent a lot of time with the bull and ponies. Those ponies were very hungry and kept galloping after the children. One greedy sheep kept coming back for more. Lucky we had Mr Roberts as he knew all about the different breeds of sheep.
Jaz and Zander learnt that the emu was a bit snappy. I think the emu loved fingers more than the carrots.
After seeing the Alpacas, llamas, chickens, pigs, ducks and kangaroos, It was time to have a lunch picnic and play with PPB.
Next it was PPH's time for the Reptile Park. The place was so interesting and the children were very excited to visit all the glass aquariums full of different reptiles. It was great learning about all the facts especially which reptiles were poisonous and which ones were not.
Then it was time to touch and hold some slippery and scaly reptiles. DID SOMEONE SAY SNAKE! At this stage we lost a Mum out the door, however, I still had 26 children lining up for a hold of a python and Pixie the very long snake. We even got to observe a snake at feeding time.
Both places were amazing but the census is in. PPH's favourite animals for the day were the baby lambs, guinea pigs and OF COURSE the snakes. WAIT! I forgot the bus trip. I think the children will be talking about going on the bus together for days.
Thank you so much to PPB and all the wonderful parent helpers for sharing this experience with us. Thank you so much to the Mums and Dads,we couldn't do it without you.
PPH are in the process of finishing a class book with photos and our favourite parts of the excursion to share to everyone about what a great day we had.
